Our guarantee on EU student fees for the next five years

As the Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University, I would like to affirm the institution’s commitment to Europe.

We are the second largest recruiter of international students to the UK. We will continue to be a welcoming place for students to study - whether they come to us from the UK itself, other EU member states or even further away.

For those who study with us, Coventry University guarantees that EU student fees will not exceed UK fees for the next five years. Their eligibility for Erasmus grants still stands as well and will last the duration of their course. We’re also offering overseas students, including those from the EU, around £2 million  worth of scholarships to study here.

Our financial commitments sit alongside the recent announcement from the Student Loans Company, that EU students wishing to study in English universities will be able to access loans for this academic year.

Coventry University is also underlining its commitment to activity on the continent with the recent establishment of a soon-to-be-expanded Brussels office, alongside the opening of additional regional centres across Europe, to better support partners and students.

Coventry University is resolved to supporting talented people from EU countries to work and continue working in this country and reaffirms the message that the UK’s exit will have no immediate impact on the immigration status of the university’s EU staff.

Whatever outcome emerges from the UK government’s negotiations with the EU, Coventry University will support its entire community through the next stages. We will be working hard during in the coming months, in conversation with the government, to clarify precisely what the UK's exit means for our EU students and staff – if you are one of them, then you will be amongst the first to know of future developments.
